Our Story
We had a humble beginning in 1983 with nothing more than a pickup truck, a rented Quonset building and a dream of building a feed business in Belgrade and Stearns County. It started as a small retail outlet selling feed, seed, chickens and animal health supplies. With the landscape changing rapidly to larger farms and hobby farms so has Feed Co adapted.
In 1987, Feed Co purchased a feed mill in Paynesville to keep up with the demands and services needed to help keep the family farm thriving. The Paynesville location had a major fire in June of 2012 and rebuilt a large retail warehouse on the former mill location at 210 Minnie St. The fire did not slow down our progress as we now have all of our manufacturing done by Famo Feeds in Freeport, MN.

We continue providing a full line of custom livestock, horse and poultry feeds along with pet foods and bird seeds. In 2017 the Belgrade Location was sold to Casey' General Stores. We now service all of our accounts out of our Paynesville location.
We service our customers with 2 bulk feed trucks, 2 flatbed bag trucks and 2 salespeople on the road daily. Feed Co works with Famo Feeds as its major supplier, along with a Green Range line of natural (organic) products for our organic customers. We are also a supplier of Purina Mills and Running Horse Equine feeds and provide manufacturing for several independent nutritionists.
